CARLA PONTES (Soprano)

She began her musical studies under the instruction of Birgit Wegemann in 2004. She has attended several workshops, courses, seminars, private lessons and masterclasses across Portugal including: the International Vocal Music Course at Aveiro University with Mário Alves, Isabel Alcobia, Claire Vangelisti and Isobel Andersen; the Compulsory Figures for Voice Control (EVTS) course with Viv Manning; and singing masterclasses with Guillemette Laurens, Liliana Bizineche and Sandra Medeiros. She has also worked with João Lourenço, Helena Vieira, Ângela Silva and Enza Ferrari. She joined the summer internship at the International Festival of Saint-Bertrand de Cumminges in France with Guillemette Laurens, where she performed in the final organ concert. GRACE BORGAN (Flute)

She began her musical career at the Vienna Conservatory of Music in 1991. From 1996-2003, she studied at the Hermanos Berzosa Conservatory in Caceres, Spain under the instruction of Javier Puentes. She continued her musical studies in the US where she earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Ouachita Baptist University under the instruction of Kristin Grant. In 2006, she won 1st Place in the OBU Annual Concerto Competition allowing her to perform as a soloist with the Ouachita Wind Ensemble. She toured with this group to various cities in the US and even came to the Algarve on a European tour of Spain and Portugal in 2007. She has attended various workshops, masterclasses, concerts and conventions with world-renowned flautists such as James Galway, Alexa Still and Ian Clark. Since moving to the Algarve in 2011, she has enjoyed teaching private flute lessons and performing in operas by Gita Nasta. For further information see www.graceborgan.info

CRISTIANA SILVA (Piano)

She began her musical studies in 1995 at the Joly Braga Santos Conservatory in Portimão where she completed a basic course in piano and violin. In 2003, she transferred to the Academy of Music in Lagos (AML) in order to complete a complementary course. She has studied with many teachers, including João Pedro Cunha (violin), João Rosa and Elena Tsouranova (piano). She has also participated in piano masterclasses with Álvaro Teixeira Lopes and Eduardo Martins. Between 1995 and 2007 she won prizes at various piano competitions throughout Portugal. In 2010, she completed her higher studies in piano at the Superior School of Music in Lisbon, under the instruction of Jorge Moyano. In the same year, she took part in a project called "Contemporary Connections" with “Trio Flaugotiano” and was given the opportunity of premiering pieces written by composers such as Sergio Azevedo.
